Goodbyes and Hello.

Hey everyone! After tons of back and forth, creating two or three versions, and fifty million name ideas later, I've decided not only to change the name of my blog but to move platforms as well. I'd been wanting to update the layout of my blog for some time now, but after a while realized the limitations of my outdated HTML/CSS skills and Blogger.

I'm also stubborn enough where I fully believe I can do this on my own. As a result, I'm moving over to Wordpress. After months of experiencing KonMari, I really want to simplify my life and the things in it. I want a clean, simple layout and Wordpress was able to give that to me with minimal effort.

And the less time I spend wondering how the heck do I make this nav bar work, the more time I have to create content for you!

But its not just a platform change, but a name change as well. When I started this blog all I knew is that I wanted it to be me. Yes, mostly centered around my love for fashion, but just me. And it didn't really become that. I touched upon this in a previous post, so I won't bore you with repeated words, but I feel like I needed to move on. And so I came up with "Pamada K". Which, as you know is just my name. What you don't know is that I hated my full name for more than half my life. I got a lot of bullying with this name, and not that shortening it to "Pam" was much better, but at least it let me feel like I fit in.

"Pamada K" is me accepting myself and truly, truly being myself. I want to thank all of you for sticking around through all these ups and downs. I hope you'll make the migration with me to my new home on the internet (though after this week, justpandippo.com will make the migration for you ;). I'll be updating all of my accounts (well the ones that will let me anyways) to @pamadak as well and eventually import over some of my old blog posts.

Thank you for reading!

<3 Pamada

{Lookbook} Thakoon for Kohls/Designation and Adam Lippes for Target

As it seems to go every 6 months or so, its a battle of the collabs. Target vs Kohls. Though for once Kohls is launching before Target. A good two weeks before at that. I'm wondering how that will effect the sales of both companies or if it really will at all? In any case, after spending the last 3 or 4 months KonMaring my entire wardrobe (and yes its still going on), I'm going to try to be much better about what I end up purchasing. In other words, I am going to try very hard not to buy all the things.

I really don't know how well this is going to go.

I did a decently with Lilly Pulitzer for Target, but at the same time, I knew most of that collection wasn't really my style. Adam Lippes and Thakoon are another story. On the plus side, I do have a lot of things working in my non-spending favor. The Adam Lippes collection is very plaid. I mean its literally just all plaid. And, for the most part, its all the same plaid pattern.

These are two are top of my wishlist. You can see that the pattern is the same but the color and styles are different enough where I wouldn't feel like its too repetitive.

I'm also seriously considering this barware set. As much as I loved the Lilly line, it didn't match with our decor (that and MP hated it). This however, will go quite well with everything.

However, all of this really depends on this Thakoon for Kohls plaid vest.

It's a $120. $120! Ugh. Even considering that Kohl's does a 25% off the first week of launch, this is still a $90 vest. I don't know if I can do it. I don't think I've ever bought anything at Kohl's for that much. But its all sorts of amazing and the only thing that really stood out from the line.

This hooded scarf and cardigan are nice but overall the collection is so normal that it lacks incentive to pay the designer mark up.

You can check out the rest of the lookbooks here and here. Its a pretty short list for me this time around. What's yours look like?

Happy Wednesday!

P.S. We're headed to Boston this weekend. Any recommendations on places to eat?

{Beauty} Julep Lee Swatch & My New Inquisitor

Julep Lee Polish
Brandy Melville Silver Swirly Wave Ring
Urban Outfitters Triple Crisscross Ring (sold out)

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great Mother's day! Julep Lee was part of my accidental May maven box. And by accidental, I mean I missed the calendar notification to look or skip my box options. Oops. The downfalls of subscriptions no? In any case this ended up being a happy surprise. I've recently realized that I have nothing but really deep shades and very few brights - reds in particular. I was quite delighted when I got this. Its easily a one coater (goes on smooth, not streaky), but I like to do two to bring out more of the color. I've had this on my nails for a little over a week now and the tips are just showing a bit of wear. Which is rather amazing considering I've had my crafty pants on all week.

I've been looking for a bright shade of red to pair with my latest Inquisitor drawing. I've been obsessed with Dragon Age: Inquistion since I got it for Christmas last year. This is my second play through and I think I love looking at my character more than I like playing her! Haha. Her tattoos are actually a deep shade of red, as are her eyes, but apparently I was drawing in the dark when I did this. ^.^ Looks just as pretty in pink though!

{Outfit} Edging out Lilly Pulitizer for Target

Lilly Pulitzer for Target Girl's Romper in Noise Posey
Express (Minus the Leather) Moto Vest (old - similar)
Jessica Simpson Roselle Heel (sold out)

I absolutely love pairing the Noise Posey print with black. I've tried it with a bunch of different black garments and they all look fantastic. I've played with other colors as well, but something about the black just makes the print pop.

{Review} Milly for Kohl's (DesigNation)

After Lilly, there came Milly. Though technically Milly came before Lilly in the form of Banana Republic. But comparing Kohl's Milly to BR's Milly would be like comparing apples to lemons (ha! see what I did there), so we won't be comparing this line to Banana's at all.

{Review} Lilly Pulitzer for Target

Its easy to say that Lilly Pulitzer for Target was a smashing success. The collection almost crashed the Target website, almost. The Target dog became the new pin wheel of death. Tons of people ended up with accidental orders of the same thing, because, well damn that refresh button. But according to Target, the website did not crash. It did, however, make it one of the most frustrating collaboration experiences to date, Phillip Lim being the worst because posting bags at like 2 AM PST is just cruel (No, I did not participate in Missoni). Even in this land of non-Lilly lovers (no really, see photo after the jump), most of my Targets had scraps left by the end of the day, and a lot of umbrella stands. One Target took down all of their signage up and any returns are integrated with the regular clothing (can't tell you how much fun that is when you're looking for a singular romper).

So yes, Lilly Pulitzer for Target was a success. Except, I've finished this post like three times, but with the amount of Lilly returns pouring in, I keep adding to it! On the day of launch I only managed to grab a few things in my size, but now there seems to be plenty (minus the darn Happy Place romper anyways). You have to wonder how much of it was eBay and how much of it were real purchases. In any case, I'm cutting myself and just hitting publish. If I come across more things, I'll update. ;) But this is also good news! If you missed out on something, now is the time to go look. I don't know whether to love or hate Target for this 14 day return policy, but if it helps against the eBay vultures, I'm all for it.

An Apology, Expectations... and a few Outfits

Madewell Bien Fait Side-Zip Sweatshirt
Lilly Pulitzer for Target Women's Challis Shorts in Upstream
Fergalicious by Fergie Ferocious Gladiator Sandals in Olive
Lilly Pulitzer for Target Embroidered Clutch in Gold

First off, I want to say I’m sorry for dropping off the face of the planet. Well, the face of the internet. Well, really the face of my blog because my Instagram activity never slowed down. Either or, I am sorry. I don’t have a massive following, but the followers I do have, I have worked very hard for and I value each and every one. I’ve written and rewritten this blog post in my head several times over the past few months, but I really didn’t know what I wanted to do with my blog, so it all stayed in my head and the blog just stayed silent.

{Beauty} Julep Margit Polish Review

Julep Margit

I don't do a whole lot of nail polish swatches/reviews on this blog. This is mostly because I don't think I'm the best person to do so. I rock climb twice a week and that normally destroys whatever polish I do have on (though I have a friend who manages to climb and keep her manicure perfect. Obviously a much more graceful climber than I am :P). I also have no patience to do clean up or wait for my nails to dry, which often results in dents and chipping, etc, etc. I am trying to get better at this, so maybe there will be more swatches in the future. Maybe not. But the point of the matter is, that right now, if I am telling you about a polish - its a pretty darn big deal!

I got Margit in my January Julep Maven box. This is serious a great polish. I love the color (which is a mushroom with rose shimmer), but heck, I love a lot of colors. What makes this polish fantastic is that it is a.. wait for it.. one-coater. Yeah, no seriously. How rare is that? Julep polish can be hit or miss, but Margit hits it out of the ball park. The self leveling is fantastic, no streaks, completely opaque after one coat. In terms of chipping, I had a rare week where I (forgot) to climb and so I can tell you that the polish will not chip for over one week (normal activity level - lots of typing). Note: I did use a base coat (Essie ridge filler) and top coat (Seche Vite).

P.S. If you're interested in trying Julep the no risk way, they sell some of the shades at Sephora now. Easy peasy returns if you don't like. If you don't mind risking a I forgot to cancel/skip my subscription this month, you can get your first Julep box for free by clicking here (referral link).

New year, new resolution: Saying goodbye to Chinese e-retailers

I’m not one for making resolutions. I think if you decide to make a change in your life, you should just do it, why wait for new year? But this has been a long time coming and as it coincides with the new year, I thought it fitting to call it a resolution.

I’ve been going back and forth about this for almost a year now. It honestly pains me to write this post because I feel like I’m adding to a stereotype, but I can no longer excuse everything that I have seen and experienced. I’ve received quite a number of emails regarding different Chinese e-retailers, OASAP.com in particular. The most common question is, “Is this website a scam?” Before, the answer to this really depended on your level of tolerance. For the most part, none of these Chinese e-retailers are scams. Or at least what we traditionally think of as a scam. I’ve purchased from several and always received my order within a month or less (typical for something coming across sea). The real question that should be asked is, “Can these websites be trusted?”
