Jason Wu x Target

here we go again. another collaboration with a mid level store to offer us affordable designer fashion.

gosh darnit. this affording designer fashion is starting to burn a hole in my wallet. and also causing major anxiety/stress on my part. i totally missed out on the Dragon Tattoo x H&M line. by the time i got there, they only had a shirt left, which really didn't fit in right lisbeth way. the Missoni x Target line didn't totally blow me away, but i still managed to score a couple of items on clearance and avoided the huge blow out. Vercase x H&M >.< i just didn't bother.. the pricing was still a bit out of my range and everything ran out in my size before i could even get in the store, and now.. there's this..
Jason Wu x Target

:( this is bad. this is really bad. the collaboration was originally announced back in october, but we're just finally getting a real sneak preview now. i want it all. badly. how adorable are those dresses? ugh. both those dresses are listed at $40, and everything else in the line will be under $60. thankgawd i got a target giftcard for christmas and i didn't use it yet. >.< it'll help off set some of the cost.

from what i've seen so far, the line is nothing short but adorable. i can only hope that everything fits well, and the quality is decent. i was really impressed with the level of quality from the Missoni products, so i can only imagine this will be just as good.

peoplestyle apparently has another wu/target ad in their latest edition. i'll see if i can't stop by and pick one up on the way home today and upload a better version.

gosh, that dress looks awfully familiar doesn't it? yep, it kind of looks like this one..

Wu told T magainze, “My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection. Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.” doesn't mean there won't be some influence right? not that i mind, his spring line looks amazing and i'm giddy with exciting over the pre-fall already. i'm fairly sure that dress will go very, very quickly. i may need to create a priority list on what i want/can find.

a bit about Wu:

Born in Taiwan, Wu moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada at age nine and attended Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Massachusetts and Loomis Chaffee, in Windsor ,Connecticut.[1][2] He learned how to sew by designing and sewing for dolls, and went on to study sculpture in Tokyo. Wu continued this career path at sixteen by learning to create freelance doll clothing designs for toy company Integrity Toys under the lines "Jason Wu dolls" and later "Fashion Royalty".[1] The following year, he was named creative director of Integrity Toys.[3] He decided to become a fashion designer while spending his senior year of high school in Rennes[4] before graduating from The Loomis Chaffee School in 2001, and studied at the Parsons The New School for Design at The New School. He later interned with Narciso Rodriguez. [via wikipedia]
